What Alberta’s Air Quality Health Index means to your health
Maybe you’ve been outdoorsworking, playing sports or justwalking the dog and found it hard tobreathe. Or maybe your eyes stung andyour throat was irritated. The problemcould be air quality. On days when theair quality is poor, such symptoms candevelop.
But how do you know what the airquality is and what it means to yourhealth?
That’s where the Air Quality Health
Index (AQHI) comes in. “The AQHI
is a health protection tool that helps
us to understand the effect of local
air pollution on our health,” says
