Research, however, shows the way happy peoplebehave links directly to the positive way they feel.

Cochrane retiree elaine lewis, 65, recentlytravelled a path to greater happiness. Separatedfrom her husband in 2014, she was feelinglow when a counsellor suggested she attendhappiness Basics, a free seven-week workshoprun by the Calgary Foothills primary Carenetwork. Based on positive psychology, theworkshop has been shown to improve vitality andenergy and reduce pain.

Health Matters is published by Calgary andarea primary Care networks (pCns) to give youinformation on the programs, services and otherhealth-care professionals available through yourfamily doctor.
over 1,300 family doctors in 346 clinics are membersof pCns in the Calgary area. they provide care forabout 1.1 million patients.
What is a Primary Care Network?
a primary Care network connects you to services,programs and information that can help youbetter manage your health. pCns can also includephysicians, health teams, after-hours medical access,clinics and workshops.
pCn services and programs are developed inpartnership with your family doctor to meet youreveryday health needs.
Research shows when people have and regularlyvisit a family doctor, they are healthier as they ageand live longer. In addition, people with chronicdiseases receive more care, make fewer emergencydepartment visits and are hospitalized less.
