Calgary’s first free-standing,
Since then, thanks to the generous support of many
who share our commitment, Agapé Hospice has
expanded to two wings containing 20 beds, and
has provided compassionate end-of-life care for
some 4,200 residents and their loved ones.
As an integral part of the continuum of health care
in Alberta, Agapé has become a respected leader
in providing collaboration on new hospice facilities,
contributed to national standards of care accreditation
and developed educational and organizational
studies related to the hospice palliative field.
With the support of the Calgary Foundation and the
University of Calgary, Agapé has also developed
the innovative Caring for the Caregivers Wellness
Project, which is destined to be a model for all
hospice and palliative care facilities.
For 20 years, we have built upon the foundations
of visionary leaders and have led the way in hospice
palliative care excellence. Now, as we look to the
future, our vision is even stronger and focused on
ensuring that we have the resources to meet the
ever-growing hospice palliative care needs of our
