For those facing
cancer today, in
honour of those lost
to cancer, and for
generations to come,
we promise progress.
The Fruit to the School program gives students a
healthy snack once a week, with fruit purchased
from a local grocery store.
In fall 2010, the community officially launched
Tatanka Trails, a system of trails through the town
complete with mapped signage.
As part of a plan for a community garden, residents
built a greenhouse that will operate year-round
and be tended organically. Residents can, for $10
to rent greenhouse or garden plots.
to help those with Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder
(FASD), as part of the ACE program. The ACE
group is working with the Lakeland Centre for
FASD to provide participants in the program with
opportunities to broaden their horizons, using
services already in the community.
Park. A building day this past September saw
community members volunteer for a variety of
tasks, including making picnic tables, planting trees
and beginning construction on a new amphitheatre
and bike/skateboard park.
