This role can also be filled by a stepfather or another trusted, nurturing andcaring man in children’s lives, such as anuncle, grandfather, neighbour, teacher,friend or coach. The role of a father isspecial and any two caregivers can worktogether to co-parent children. These rolescan be filled by someone of any gender.
