Sport a positive attitude
Going through life with the glass half full improves well-being. Your outlookaffects how you feel and how you approach situations. It makes sense topractise a positive stance. Mindfulness, the ability to feel present in themoment without judgment, is another powerful tool. Learning to be mindfulwill help you worry less, reduce stress and make life more enjoyable.
Gratitude goes a long way and makespeople feel good, whether giving orreceiving. Expressing appreciation, evena simple “thank you,” can strengthenrelationships and open the door fornew friends. Plus, some studiesshow that writing down gratefulsentiments before bed can lead tobetter sleep. Count your blessingsand focus on the brighter side of life.
Reminiscing is a great way to sharpen yourmemories. And it can feel good to rememberand share meaningful experiences. Chattingabout our past is a way to pass on traditions andestablish a shared history, which strengthensrelationships within families and helps usconnect with younger generations. If you’refeeling ambitious, write your memoiror better yet, record video or soundof your stories. These couldmake great gifts for familyand friends.
It can be a short-term goal for the day, such as doing 30 minutes of activity. Or itcan be a longer-term plan such as a canoetrip on the South Saskatchewan River.
Whatever your goal, set it and then mapout the steps it will take to achieve it.
And, as you accomplish your goals, setnew ones.
