I’ve just picked up Apple’s Summer 2016
issue and wanted to say that I’m more
impressed than usual. The layout is very
attractive and bright, the photographs
are amazing and the articles are
interesting and well written.
It is great to have nearly an entire issue
devoted to fathering, even though as a
single, full-time mom I happen to be both
mom and dad to my two young teens.
I am most pleased with your story A
Normal Family on a lovely family with two
dads. In light of the recent terrible mass
shooting in Orlando, we need to, as a
society, continue to celebrate and make
visible previously marginalized people.
I’m very happy that this article did just
that in a beautiful way.
We used the Apple dads edition at the
local community Teddy Bear Picnic and
with community partners who have
convened a dads focus committee for
our local Foothills Children’s Wellness
Network. Some of these magazines will
be shared at the Dad’s Central drop-in
fun evenings held each month.
There is a brain development display
at the health centre here in Okotoks and
our teams are giving the dads issue of
Apple magazine out to families as they
come into the clinic for vaccination and
breastfeeding support to take home to
the dads in their lives. In August we had
a dads class for our summer baby class.
Thanks for sharing this great resource
